Dr. Mary LaLone has served as museum consultant for the Wilderness Road Regional Museum, a

regional cultural history museum in Newbern, VA, since Spring 2012. Dr. LaLone and Dr. Carolyn Mathews, Past President of the New River Historical Society, launched a university-community partnership in 2012 that has been providing multiple undergraduate research opportunities for RU students to learn and apply social science skills as they assist in a wide variety of museum development activities.
